Shri Shakambari Temple

Sri Shakambari Temple, which is situated in Sakari Dham near Udaipurwati of Rajasthan, is famous for highly artistic statuettes of gods and goddesses. Brahmani and Rudrani are the idols of the temple and both these idols are lion riding goddesses with eight arms and in the posture of killing Mahishasura. The faces of the idols are vermillion pasted. The idol of Brahmani is made of marble, while the idol of Rudrani is made of locally available medstone, which is the only difference between the two idols. The priests of the temple are Sadhus of Nath cult. The deities are placed on a silver throne, which is placed on a platform of the elegantly hew stones with drawn patterns there. It was Seth Ram Gopal Dangayach and his family built this huge temple in its present form.
